We hand-built our shala with the intention of creating a peaceful, simple and comfortable space in which to practice and teach yoga. Now we open our doors to all and any forms of holistic / therapeutic practice.
Our wide range of colour co-ordinated matts, bolsters, blocks, bricks, straps and blankets are available for the duration of your event / retreat.
EVENT SPACE DETAILS:
11 x 6 metres - Suitable for 12-14 yoga matts comfortably spaced (plus a teacher)
Suitable for 18-20 yoga matts more closely spaced for sound baths / meditation (plus a teacher / instructor)
We have 3 canvas safari tents, each able to sleep 2-3 guests in beds with proper mattresses. The glamping tents are simply furnished with up-cycled and antique furniture, and all have an electric stove-style heater, as well as comfortable bedding, fairly lights and a small kettle. There is no running water, but external drinking taps, toilets and shower facilities are situated close by.
DETAILS: 5 x 4 metres. Suitable for 1 to 3 guests
We have 2 renovated railway goods wagons, both able to sleep 2-3 guests in beds with proper mattresses. The glamping wagons are simply furnished with both modern and hand-built furniture, and have an electric stove-style heater, as well as comfortable bedding, fairly lights, and a small kettle. There is no running water, but external drinking taps, toilets and shower facilities are situated close by.

New Hut for 2026:
We are also in the process of renovating one of our existing out-buildings into accommodation for use by your guests, in the form of a small 2-berth hut. It will contain 2 single beds, furniture, fairy lights, heater and a private camping loo. Outside there will be a large covered area to accommodate a couple of outside chairs and a table.

Own accommodation:
Your guests are also very welcome to bring their own accommodation to Laurel Park, if that is something you wish to offer on your retreat. We have plenty of grass pitches with campsite electric hook-up and chemical toilet disposal.
We also have a small vintage caravan that has been created as our host accommodation (If not required by the host, it can be used as sole-occupancy guest accommodation). Her name is Flump! She is located in a private garden area behind the shala, providing a quiet escape between hosting duties. Flump has a double bed, a small rudimentary camping toilet and a small kettle. There is no running water, but external drinking taps, toilets and shower facilities are situated close by.
Our grounds
We have just under 3 acres of greenery, ranging from mowed grass to wild meadow, with an array of laurels, contorted willow, birch, elder, cherry and laylandii trees. We share our space with an abundance of wildlife, including rabbits, pigeons, hedgehogs, muntjacs, roe deer, owls, bats, woodpeckers, jays and many other creatures who frequent Laurel Park. The soundtrack is a background symphony of bird song.
